Three months!

It's hard to believe, but three months from now I WILL have finished my 2nd marathon with my amazing friend Wendy by my side!

This week went a lot better than last week. I got my miles in, but due to the extreme heat we've been experiencing, they were all dreadmill (treadmill) miles. I planned on getting up early this morning and beating the heat to go out for my seven mile walk/jog, but stayed out too late last night hanging out with friends so I didn't get up in time. Worth it? Yes... time with friends is valuable and I'm glad to have spent the time with them.

Right now, with my training I feel like the most important thing is getting the miles in and making sure I stretch and do the physical therapy for my plantar fasciitis. How fast I get the miles done isn't of concern to me right now. Even at my snail pace today my heel is bothering me quite a bit. I need to be more disciplined in my stretching and therapy for my foot. That seems to be a theme in my life - needing to be more disciplined! I'll get there... one step at a time! :-)

Choosing Hope

This was a really tough week for a lot of reasons and my running schedule took a big hit. I managed to get some short run/walks in during my breaks at work but didn't make it to the gym for an "actual" run/walk until today. It would be easy to be discouraged after this week with all the "stuff" going on and the toll it took on me emotionally and physically, but instead I am just going to put it behind me and press on. Last week is over and there's nothing I can do to change it. I have a sign on my desk at work that says, "Once you choose hope anything is possible." It took a few tough days for me to get that through my skull this week, but despite circumstances that aren't ideal, I am going to choose hope.

Pressing forward with hope,

Sherri
