Perseverance

I've been amazed at how the messages at church have been so applicable in my life lately. God's timing has truly been perfect in telling me what I need to hear when I need to hear it. I had another not so great week of eating/working out. Today's message at church was on "Perseverance".

Quick outline: 2 Peter 1:1-11

Make every effort to add perseverance...

1. Persevere in relationships to show the love of Christ.
2. Persevere in hardships to show the mercy of Christ.

3. Persevere in temptation to show the faithfulness of Christ.
4. Persevere in opposition/persecution to show the power of Christ.

This was an encouraging message to me this morning. Even though life has been hard and I've had my share of trials and struggles lately, I have persevered. Yes, there have been times I've felt like giving up. Yes, there have been days... weeks I haven't worked out like I want to and know I should. But, I am pressing on, I am moving forward and I will persevere. I will not give up, I will keep fighting the fight.

When all is said and done, I will be able to say, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

With Perseverance and Faith,

Sherri

  2. Thanks Nina. Yes, that was finishing my first (and only) full marathon. My actual chip time was about 6:56. I have done two halfs and one full. I want to do another full but need to get some of this weight off of me first! When is your half? Best wishes training!
